Recipes i use

  These are recipes i use regularly, a lot of them have been modified from the original recipes

                                                 Chocolate Cake 


250 g of Flour 
400 g of white Sugar
65 g Unsweetened cocoa powder
10 g Baking Soda
5 g Baking Powder
120 ml Vegetable Oil
235 ml Milk
235 ml Hot, Strong Coffee
5 ml Vanilla Extract 
2 Eggs


2 cups of Flour 
2 cups of white Sugar
3/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsps Baking Soda
1 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 cup of Vegetable Oil
1 cup of  Milk
1 cup of  Hot, Strong Coffee
1 tsp Vanilla Extract 
2 Eggs


1.    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.. Use cocoa flour to dust pan instead of flour

2.   In a large bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and baking soda. Add the oil, milk, eggs, and vanilla, mix until smooth. Stir in the hot coffee last, the mixture will be runny.
3.  Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
4.   Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
5. Do not over bake or a heavy cake will result.

                                              Perfect frosting for Chocolate Cakes (Imho!)


5 Tablespoons of flour ( yes flour!)
1 Cup Milk
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1 Cup Butter
1 Cup Sugar


1. Bake your favourite cake and let it cool
2. In a small saucepan whisk flour into milk and heat stirring constantly until it is very thick, then set aside to cool
3. After the mixture is completely cooled to room temperature, stir in the the vanilla
4. Cream the sugar and butter together, till it is nice and fluffy.
5. Add the mixture of milk/flour/vanilla into the sugar and butter and beat very hard for about a minute, do not over beat
6. Spread this on your chocolate cake and be prepared for a divine paring!

                                                     Simple White Cake


1000g Flour
800g Sugar 
600g Butter
12 eggs
4 teaspoons flavouring
9 tsps (actually 8 3/4) 
2 cups of Milk

1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C 
2. Cream together sugar  and butter until mixture is light and fluffy
3. Beat in the eggs one at a time and add the flavouring 
4. Add the baking powder into the flour and mix well
5. Finally stir in the milk until batter is smooth 
6 . Bake for about 30 minutes or until cake is firm and springs back to touch. 

                                                Chocolate Fruit Cake 


250 g of butter
250 g of flour
250 g of sugar
4 tsps of baking powder
5 eggs
1 cup cocoa powder
Fruits ( should have be soaked with alcohol before hand)
Black Treacle
Nutmeg spice


1. Mix the Butter and Sugar together until fluffy
2. Add the eggs and flavouring into your mixture
3. Sieve the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder and add
4. Also add the browning, black treacle milk and spices 
5. Lastly add the fruits . 
6. Bake for about 35 minutes

                                                Simple Sponge Cake
100 g Margarine
100g White sugar
2 eggs 
125 g self raising flour 


1/2 cup of Margarine
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 cup self raising flour


1. Beat Margarine and sugar together until fluffy
2. Add eggs one at a time allowing egg to blend before adding the next
3. Fold in the flour slowly until smooth 
4. Bake for about 25 minutes, it is ready when a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
