I love the lord by Whitney Houston

I was devastated by the passing of Whitney Houston last week, but i kind of  blanked it out of my mind because i was busy preparing for my son's birthday celebrations. I was really rooting for her to kick her habit and make a come back, alas, it was not meant to be and sadly so. I grew up listening to her music, and when she started making movies, i watched The Bodyguard about a million times ( i love Kevin Costner too), i watched all her movies, i listened to all her CDS , my friends and i would try singing like her while playing the CD of course that was impossible but always fun for us. Whitney was a song bird, there was joy in her every note, clearly that woman was born to sing. She is gone now and will be missed terribly, she was buried yesterday. Farewell Whitney no one sings like you, you will always be remembered because your music lives on.

I love the Lord (from The preacher's wife)

                 Lyrics

I love the the Lord, he heard my cry
And pitied every groan, long as I, I live
And troubles rise, I hasten to his throne
Chorus:
Oh, I love the Lord
I sure do, surely do love the Lord
He heard, he heard my cry
And pitied every groan, yes he did
Every groan
Long as I live, long as I, I live
And troubles rise, troubles rise
I hasten to to to to to
I'll hasten, I'll hasten to his throne
I'll hasten to his throne hold on hold on
Tears are streaming down my eyes
I'll hasten, I'll hasten to his throne
Yes I will, I'll run
I know I can go to his throne
I know I can go, I know I can go
I'll hasten, I'm gonna run
I know I can go, I know I can go
I'll hasten, I'll hasten to his throne
See I can run, Lord you know I will
When there is nowhere to go I know I can go to you
I know I can run to you oh
I'll hasten, I'll hasten to his, his throne
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
I'll hasten, hasten to his throne
Surely gonna be here

Puzzle

We hosted a party for my son yesterday, and it was a blast, the only down side was that he had been ill, with malaria. Its amazing, that in the last year and a half or so, whenever we have a family function/trip coming up, i am talking his birthday, a wedding, parties, Christmas gigs, he would fall ill just before, even our last two vacations were almost cancelled because he fell ill around the time, one of the trips had us going straight from the hospital (he had to take his last injection) to the airport to catch our flight (tickets were non refundable, i can't shout ). Does this sound like a movie script to you ? me too, i don't understand it at all. He was the page boy for his aunt's wedding and as usual, he had some fever/infection during that period and he was just recovering, he slept through out the wedding ceremony and 'grouched' anyone who tried to persuade him to take pictures with the happy couple, so they have only one picture of their page boy in their entire wedding album, and he was looking cross..sad,  is there any medical reason for this?  i need answers because this is really a puzzle.

Moving on..i love parties, i do, but i don't enjoy hosting, the planning of parties brings out my perfectionist side, i obsess and i tend not to have fun. I have decided that in my next life, i will be super rich and i'll ensure i hire an event planner for all occasions, if only that were possible (sigh). Thankfully the party is over and it went really well. Jesse even played with his friends a bit, though he was not his normal boisterous self  and he was a bit grouchy, i wonder who he takes after with his grumpy ways...

I am just glad the event is over. Would you look at what is on today at little things, they were certainly talking about me.

Kolebaje by Lara George

Today, i am sharing another song by Lara George. This one in particular is a favourite of my son and i. I give you 'kolebaje'{ it cannot be destroyed}, in honour of my little boy's birthday. Jesse turned four today, and i still can't believe it's already been four years but it is, it is ( where has my baby gone??? and i want another baby!!!). We love this song because the beat is good for a dance and its always hilarious to see Jesse dance to this song and attempt to 'Komole' {stoop low while dancing}..so funny....i guess it also enforces what my hubby always says about our love/marriage, a scripture he always quotes, Its in Ecclesiastes 3:14 , the first part says, 'I know that, whatsoever God does, it shall be forever' , he even had it imprinted on our wedding invitation ..really romantic!.  Kolebaje does not need any major translation work (thanks be to God for that), so i have done the bare minimum, as we are having a party for Jesse today and i gotta run!

                                                      Lyrics

Chorus:

Ise t’Oluwa se o a
What the lord has done
Ko le baje
 it cannot be destroyed
And all that’s lovely in your life

 Ko ni daru
 will not be scattered

When it seems like all has ended know

 (Ko le baje)
Ko le baje, ko le baje o

(Ko le baje)
Ko ni daru, ko ni daru o

(ko le baje) (2ce)

Verse:

Sitting by my window
Thinking about my life
It seems so empty
Is it all a lie
Needing some answers
Needing reasons why
The road is so rough
Feeling like I just might die (but)

Repeat Chorus:

One day, one day
One day, I know I’ll sing a song
Know I’ll tell a story, a song of praise
I’ll sing of how I was delivered
How I came from misery to ecstasy

Kole mo’le, ko’le mo’le

We will build lots and lots of houses ( note : building your own house in Nigeria is a big deal)
Bi’mo rere, bi’mo rere
We will have lots of good children ( note : children also; tres important )
Ire owo l’odun mo’dun
The gift of riches year after year
Ayo m’ayo titi aye

Endless joy forever
Gbogbo ire mi ko ni daru o

All that is good in my life will not be scattered
Ko le baje

Will not be destroyed

And all that’s lovely in your life

(Ko ni daru)
When it seems like all has ended know,
just know, just know
Ko le baje, ko le baje o (ko le baje)
Ko ni daru, ko ni daru o (ko le baje)
Ah ko le baje o (ko le baje)
Rara o ko le daru mo o (ko le baje)
Ah ko le baje o (ko le baje)
Ko le baje (ko le baje)

Happy Birthday, our little prince, you are our gift from God, and we are truly blessed to have you!

Indescribable by Chris Tomlin

This is one of my husband's favourite worship songs, enjoy!

                                                         Lyrics
From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea
Creation's revealing Your majesty
From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring
Every creature unique in the song that it sings
All exclaiming

Indescribable, uncontainable
You placed the stars in the sky
And You know them by name
You are amazing, God

All powerful, untameable
Awestruck we fall to our knees
As we humbly proclaim
You are amazing, God

Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go
Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow
Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light
Yet, conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
None can fathom

Indescribable, uncontainable
You placed the stars in the sky
And You know them by name
You are amazing, God

All powerful, untameable
Awestruck we fall to our knees
As we humbly proclaim
You are amazing, God
You are amazing, God

Indescribable, uncontainable
You placed the stars in the sky
And You know them by name
You are amazing God

All powerful, untameable
Awestruck we fall to our knees
As we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God

Indescribable, uncontainable
You placed the stars in the sky
And You know them by name
You are amazing, God

Incomparable, unchangeable
You see the depths of my heart
And You love me the same
You are amazing, God
You are amazing, God
